Italian conductor Giuseppe Mengoli came to international attention after winning First Prize at The Mahler Competition. He subsequently appeared with the Wiener Symphoniker at the Bregenzer Festspiele and has developed a close relationship with the Bamberger Symphoniker, where he has led several projects, including stepping in for Herbert Blomstedt at short notice to critical acclaim.
He has since worked with orchestras such as the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, RAI National Symphony Orchestra, MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra, Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic, SWR Symphonieorchester, Dresden Philharmonie, Bruckner Orchester Linz, Orquesta Sinfónica y Coro RTVE, Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, and the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, among others. His operatic work includes productions such as Un Ballo in Maschera and future engagements at Teatro Massimo.
Before focusing fully on conducting, Mengoli performed as concertmaster and assistant conductor with ensembles including the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Boulez Ensemble, Sinfonica di Milano, Oslo Opera House, and the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla. He previously served as concertmaster of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and the Filarmonica Toscanini and worked as a violinist with orchestras such as the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin.
Anna Geniushene came to international attention after receiving the silver medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. She has since performed with Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Filarmónica de Buenos Aires, Stavanger Symfoniorkester, Des Moines Symphony, Kristiansand Symfoniorkester, Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra, Taipei Symphony Orchestra and the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra. She appears at venues and festivals including the Elbphilharmonie, Klavier-Festival Ruhr, Biarritz Piano Festival, Piano aux Jacobins, Carmel Music Society, Rockport Music and the Rafael Orozco Piano Festival, and maintains an active chamber music profile through collaborations with Lukas Geniušas and the Bowers Program of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
Her recordings include releases on Alpha Classics such as Opus 1, Hallelujah Junction and Berceuse, as well as her debut album on Linn Records.
She studied at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Elena Kuznetsova and later at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Christopher Elton. A laureate of several major competitions, she has also taught masterclasses, served on juries, and worked as assistant professor at the Moscow Conservatory. She is based in Berlin.
