François Leleux, oboe and conducting
François Leleux is a French oboist and conductor known for his energy, clarity and musicality. He has held positions as Artist-in-Residence and Artist-in-Association with ensembles such as hr-Sinfonieorchester, Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, Berner Symphonieorchester, Det Norske Kammerorkester, Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, Camerata Salzburg and Orchestre de Chambre de Paris. From the 2025/26 season, he will take over as Artistic Director of Kammerakademie Potsdam.
Leleux has worked with leading orchestras as both conductor and soloist, and has premiered works by Laurent Petitgirard, Michael Jarrell, Thierry Pécou and Thierry Escaich. He has performed with orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Budapest Festival Orchestra and Sveriges Radios Symfoniorkester, and regularly appears with Lisa Batiashvili, Eric Le Sage, Emmanuel Strosser and Les Vents Français. His discography includes recordings with Camerata Salzburg, Chamber Orchestra of Europe and Sveriges Radios Symfoniorkester, as well as award-winning albums with Münchener Kammerorchester and Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
François Leleux is Professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München.
