Kristian Bezuidenhout, piano and conductor
Kristian Bezuidenhout is one of today’s most exciting keyboard artists, equally at home on the fortepiano, harpsichord, and modern piano. Born in South Africa in 1979, he began his studies in Australia, completed them at the Eastman School of Music, and now lives in London. He is a regular guest with the world’s leading ensembles, including Les Arts Florissants, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest, and has performed with artists including Jean-Guihen Queyras, Isabelle Faust, Anne-Sofie von Otter, and Mark Padmore. Among his award-winning recordings are Mozart’s complete keyboard music, Beethoven’s piano concertos, Bach’s violin sonatas with Isabelle Faust and Mozart’s violin sonatas with Petra Müllejeans. Last year, he recorded two discs of Mozart piano concertos.
